POC Blood Tests Cleared by FDA

Point-of-care tests for hemoglobin and hematocrit on the Careside Analyzer have been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). About the size of a fax machine, the Careside Analyzer provides an efficient means of measuring blood chemistry, electrochemistry, and coagulation function at the patient's point of care. The results of a blood test are ready within 15 minutes of drawing a blood sample. The Careside Analyzer and tests are from Careside, Inc. (Culver City, CA, USA).
